Our family founded Hagemeijer & Co. in 1904, rebranding to Hagemeyer (and renaming the family itself) in 1918 due in large part to the inconsistent pronunciation of J around the world (and in small part to typewriters of the day lacking the Dutch ij character). While the company left family hands before we were born, we are happy to have at least reclaimed digital use of our family name here in Canada.
